My name is Pat and I played the main role in the design and building of the Shred Patio Bed & Shredyard. During winter I work as a ski patroller at Red Mountain and, now that my house is complete, I work as a medic for the BC Wildfire Service in the summer. I grew up under the living skies of Saskatchewan and normally return there in the fall to work during harvest. I play guitar in local Rossland band, The Gravy Train. Here's a bit more about how I got here. . . . .
How did Covid and the worldwide shutdown affect your life? For me, prior to Covid (year 2020), I was spending winters in Rossland, spring in Mexico, summer in Chile & Argentina (winter) and fall back on the prairies to make a little money to take a kitesurfing trip somewhere tropical and then return to Rossland for winter again. When borders were closed in the spring of 2020, the lifestyle I was carving for myself was largely not available anymore. I spent the summer of 2020 visiting friends and family, thinking that covid would blow over and I could return to ‘normal’, but by spring of 2021 it was evident that returning to winters in South America wasn’t going to be an option. I watched as the cost of housing began to skyrocket and got very nervous that I would never afford a home of my own in the one community that I consistently returned to for winters since 2012, Rossland.
To be continued. . . . .
