We enjoyed our stay at Cozy Bear Cottage. The place was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect on a busy holiday weekend with an easy walk into the village. We will be back!

Peaceful retreat

I fell in love with the Cozy Bear Cottage! This rustic home sits on its own hillside away from the crowds and yet a short walk to the village. I enjoyed my evening walks in the secluded neighborhood and sitting on either deck to watch the antics of the chipmunks, squirrels and birds. One deck faces east and the other west so you can get sun or shade any time, depending on the season, and a short climb up the hillside rewards with views of the lake. The cottage is well-stocked with dishes and every cooking appliance needed for your stay. It even has game counsels for the littles. It was such a much needed restful stay in peaceful place.

Spontaneous getaway

This location is why I chose this rental, unfortunately that is all it has going for it. The bed was so uncomfortable my husband slept in the recliner in living room. It is old which is fine but the amount of living and dead spiders inside made our nights even more uncomfortable. It does have two porches which is a nice amenity but it does not outweigh the negatives. We ended up packing up and leaving early.

If you aren't spending time there, it's fine

Pros: The management company is very good and responsive. The check-in and outs are easy. It was stocked well, from coffee to waffle maker to plenty of towels. Close to town. Cons: This cabin has seen better days. It seemed to have been vacant awhile - cobwebs, musty smelling linens, spiders, ants. the bedrooms are tiny and no room for even your suitcase. The bed in the front room takes up the entire room. While exterior looks nice, inside is very old and everything is very plywood-type. But the bathroom is just unbelievably bad: tiny doesn't do it justice, the shower stall is terrible - dark, leaking shower head, pipe over head. And it wasn't priced commensurate with what you get. We were visiting relatives with lakefront property so we just slept there and bathed in the morning.
