Te Kawa Room is nestled downstairs, connecting to the main bathroom through a walk in wardrobe. Enjoy the rural ambience and views as you lay in bed.
Up stairs, Ngaroto Room is an exquisite hide away, indulging in space. Savour the expansive farmland views, while sipping your morning coffee in the snug, or catch up on the latest episode with the chromecast TV. Enjoy the privacy of a walk through wardrobe and full ensuite.
Kakepuku and Pirongia Rooms offer breathtaking views of these mountains, while sharing the upstairs bathroom with Waitetuna Room.
Your booking includes 6 bedrooms (Ngaroto, Kakepuku, Pirongia, Waitetuna, Te Kawa and "The Bivvy") which is the entire house up to 11 guests.
Ngaroto and Te Kawa rooms can be split into single beds on request.

We had a fantastic stay! The property was beautiful and immaculate. We stayed one night on our travels through New Zealand. Wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect for work group stay
Everything we needed for our team planning retreat. Pity that the weather wasn't that good, so we didn't get to try the spa pool and fire pit area out. Would highly recommend.

Spacious and Beautiful property
Our family really enjoyed every bit of our stay. The house very clean. We enjoyed spa with amazing view with the mountain in the background. The host was very prompt in communications. I highly recommend this property.

Our stay at the gorgeous Barn and Bivvy
This property was everything we wanted and more! There were 11 of us ranging from 10 to 68 years old. The house is set in the rolling green farmlands of New Zealand. It’s only about a 7 minute drive to a grocery store and centrally located to many fun places. (Glowworm caves and Hobbiton are each only about a 45 min drive away) There are chickens on the property and we were able to gather eggs each morning to add to our breakfast. The house had beautiful windows that allowed for us to enjoy the stunning sunsets each night while eating dinner. The owners were amazing to work with! They responded so quickly to every question and were a huge part of making this such a relaxing trip! I have stayed at many VRBOs and have worked with many hosts, and this one is one of my very favorites. Many houses can be beautiful, but when you are fortunate enough to find a beautiful home WITH an outstanding host, it makes all the difference in the trip! I 100% recommend The Barn and Bivvy to anyone looking for an incredible, family-friendly, peaceful home with a great host during your adventure!
