About this property
Spectacular South Facing Ultimate Privacy on Jack Lake with your own Sand Beach!
Situated among the gorgeous tall white pines and cedars, this custom built private oasis checks all the boxes that a spectacular cottage retreat can offer.
Stunning views from the cottage with water on three sides, every window paints a picture, from the open water and expanse of the lake out the front windows to the picturesque quiet bay and sand beach out the back. Looking out into the bright green grass and undergrowth this structure invokes a calm peacefulness and a connection to nature that few indoor living spaces can accomplish.
If you are up with the sun you can enjoy your coffee on the beach at sunrise and take a swim in the calm bay. Take a walk in the woods watching for the deer that roam this wildlife game reserve the cottage is located on. Out for a kayak paddle or boat ride and then its time for lunch among the trees on one of the many multi level decks that surround the cottage. Find your sun or shade for a book or nap on the point or the beach. Beautiful sand beach invites relaxation and play including volleyball, badminton and a game of catch. Wading into the weedless swimming area is a gently sloping sand beach that is perfect for small children and adults alike.
In the late afternoon it's time to move to the front of the property to enjoy the afternoon sun from a lounge chair or on the shady couches for cocktails and appy's. Looking out from the windswept point across the lake, with an island to provide cover, the cottage takes on yet another personality. By late afternoon the deck on the point with Muskoka chairs and surrounded by water its the perfect place for a drink, evening swim or both.
When the sun drops or when the weather is wet the cottage provides many inviting spaces to get together in large groups or find a private area to read. Enjoy a family meal at the harvest table surrounded by windows and trees on three sides. The great room is the focal point of the building with a soaring 18 foot ceiling all paneled in light oak with a field stone fireplace and surrounded by windows and stunning views. With multiple seating areas and extra table for dining, art, puzzling or crafts this room invites conversation and connection. Open concept cooks kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 fridges and lots of counter space makes creating meals for a large group easy.
Each bedroom is finished in pine and creates a unique private space with different views and light from each room. The secluded master suite, down the floor to ceiling window lined breezeway, provides a private escape to read, talk, watch a movie in the library or enjoy the quiet and beautiful views from the screened in porch. The private loft bedroom has a sitting area and deck with view out the front making it a second secluded bedroom. The other bedroom area has a spiral staircase up to a 3 bed tandem room walks through to the queen size bedroom with en-suite bathroom making this area perfect for a young family or guests. This area also accesses the playful 3rd story tower more for the kids with windows on 4 sides and a set of built in bunk beds.
This is a cherished family cottage that has been a source of joy fun relaxation and connection to nature, family and friends to anyone lucky enough to visit.
This spring-fed lake, is a reservoir lake for the Trent- Severn Waterway System, which means that the water is constantly being flushed out and circulated. There is a marina on the lake, forest glen marina that rents jet ski, fishing boats and ski boats (kawartha fun on water). It also has a small shop for ice cream and jack lake t-shirts as well as a boat launch and morning yoga.
The landscape is one of pine-covered shores, rugged windswept islands, pink granite outcroppings, and driftwood bays. For the angler, the lake is deep enough in places for Trout and Pickerel (Walleye) and shallow enough in the many bays to provide habitat for Bass. Naturalists will enjoy the wildness of the area. Other than distant cottages there are hundreds of hectares of crown land forests, and uninhabited lakes. All the back country around this lake is crown land, so the wildlife is some of Ontario's best!
