About this property

Tranquil Manitoulin Cabin is peaceful and private, surrounded by forest.

A peaceful setting for a log cabin set in the forest of pines and maples. Sleep in a bedroom with views of the forest and fields. Barbecue on the back patio with total privacy. Cosy up in the fall on the deck and watch the stars in the night sky. Tour the island and embrace all the fall colours of the forests. Manitoulin is a great place to hike, walk or bike a great variety of trails. Lake Wolsey is a short drive where you can fish from the causeway bridge or launch a boat. The cabin is like a home away from home, in a small community that welcomes visitors to the Island.

Peace and Quiet in the Country

The property was perfect, with lots of space to relax. The host, Williamina, had the kitchen stocked with all the essentials needed to make a nice breakfast and the bathroom stocked with lots of clean towels. We had beautiful weather that allowed us to enjoy the patio and BBQ after a day of sightseeing on lovely Manitoulin Island.

About the host

Hosted by Williamina McIvor

Host profile image
Originally from Scotland, I like Manitoulin Island because it is so pristine. It is a quiet place with country roads where you can take your time to drive and enjoy the fresh air. I like hosting because I worked for an international company in Switzerland as Housekeeping manager for executive suites.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood is rural with farms and forest. I enjoy the wild life with deer, partridge and pheasants always to be seen in the fields. There are lakes throughout the island where you can enjoy the beaches.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is built with large pine logs. maple and pine floors and tongue and groove pine walls. Italian tile layers laid the floors and built the fireplace. It’s a peaceful rustic place to sit back and unwind,
