Ya get what you pay for
My husband and I stayed here with our small dog for 2 weeks. We were coming to Charleston for a reunion and this was a last minute reservation due to the hurricane in Florida and we could not get our sailboat to Charleston. What I liked about the property: off street parking large enough for 3 cars, very comfortable sofa in the living room, the sitting area in the back yard, there is a charcoal grill, the shower was nice with plenty of hot water, the owners were very quick to respond with any issues. There were bags of chips provided and coffee pods. What we did not like: the neighborhood is a bit run down, the Ring key pad lock was a pain to deal with, upon entry the home had an awful smell and we had to go buy candles and the owner also provided one. The kitchen is not well equipped, we had to go buy mixing bowls to use. There is absolutely no storage for clothes. When we arrived we didn't even have hangers. They did bring hangers to us the next day. However, there are no dressers in any of the bedrooms. This made it difficult for a 2 week stay. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the king bed is so tall that it's hard to get in and out of. The back yard, while having one of my favorite features in the sitting area, was undesirable. There is no grass, and that also keeps the kitchen floor dirty with so much dust blowing in any time the back door was opened. The backyard was also covered in broken glass. I spent over an hour picking up glass so my small dog would not get it in her paws. There was a hammock, but was so dirty that I would not dare use it. There was also a fire pit that we did use, however it was rusted all the way through so it made it very difficult to have a fire. But the most disturbing thing about the home was the roaches. They did have someone come treat for them 3 times while we were there. And on our last day there were still roaches. The over-all feel of the home felt as if it was furnished with 2nd hand furniture and dishes. Unfortunately, I would not stay there again.
