Not as advertised
For the price the place is not on my list for future visits. It is in a nice secure building but very close to the Hasting st challenges that have been present for years. Its really the bed and the details. The bed has a big dip in it, blinds are broken, windows was hard to close and its noisy there. It was pretty clean but it bare minimum on clean, door handles are ripped off and generally needs to be taken care of better. My wife and I LOVE visiting cities and finding those quaint little spots with the cool cafe around the corner. I can't escape the feeling of being cgarged too much for too little. The owner needs to give it some love and it would get back to its original appeal.

Dangerous neighborhood where people camp on the streets. Not recommended!
This listing is not anything like as described. We did not even check in! I was petrified to even get out of the car. The whole neighborhood and area is scattered with homeless people living in tents on the streets. I have requested a refund and am still waiting.

Fine place to stay but a bit misleading
Not good to stay here with the intention of sleeping three people as it’s advertised. Yes there’s a couch that fold into a fouton yet there’s only one tiny throw blanket and a sheet for bedding and my friend who stayed there was freezing all night. More bedding is needed! This is a tough tough neighborhood, just a block away are some very sweet and safe areas, but you will be surrounded by a lot of suffering and struggling people. A lot of crack, I wouldn’t come here with children and if you’re women, make sure to buddy up and get a sense for safe streets. Otherwise, it’s a fine place to stay and had what we needed!

Apartment is cute, beware of location
Location: had we known about the homeless and people actively using substances outside the apartment we would have most likely not stayed here, however I am glad we did. Yes there’s a lot of homeless just outside the front door, however if you can look past that, there’s a lot of cute shops, live music, restaurants and bars just a block away. The public transportation is just a few blocks away as well, however we just walked everywhere. The apartment itself is very cute and clean. The AC was loud enough to block out the noise from the street. The apartment felt very safe. The check in process was simple but a little intimidating if you’re checking in after dark. The host was attentive and waited for us to check in even though we arrived after 11pm. We are disappointed we were not able to use the wifi. The host sent the password in a message but it did not work for us and we didn’t really receive any help from the host when we informed them of this. We ended up having to pay for international data in order to get around without the WiFi. Suggestion for host- it would be helpful to have a folder in the apartment with information such as the Wi-Fi, public transportation information and local attractions.
