Terramar Beach home with views of Galveston Bay and wetlands!

A bird watchers paradise! This 1500 sq ft bayside home offers wonderful views of Galveston Bay and the wetlands for wildlife and bird viewing. Located in popular Terramar Beach Subdivision, it’s only a short drive to the beach.

This home features a 42 in flat screen TV in the living room, hardwood floors and updated furniture throughout the home.

The family friendly neighborhood offers a community swimming pool that you will have access to during your stay at Sandy Hook. Please note, the pool is open seasonally during the summer months. (May - September).

After a day of fun in the sun, enjoy the downstairs area perfect for grilling dinner, entertaining or watching the beautiful Galveston sunsets.

Dogs are welcome at Sandy Hook and require an additional $100 non-refundable fee per dog. There is a limit of two (2) dogs at a combined weight limit of 50lbs.

Ground Level: Parking for 4 vehicles; No Garage Access; Outdoor Shower.

Main Level: Large living area with 42” TV; Kitchen with dining area. Master Bedroom suite has a Queen bed with 32” TV and private Bathroom. Bedroom 2 with two (2) sets of Bunk Beds plus one Twin Trundle. Shared bathroom; Bedroom 3 with a Queen bed. Small covered deck with table & chairs and a second covered deck with great views of the wetlands and Galveston Bay.

Location: 2 minutes to the beach; 18.3 mile drive to 61st Street; 21.4 mile drive to 25th & Strand; 17.5 miles to Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn Waterpark.

Notes: Although provided, WiFi access/Cable/Dish service can be unreliable here on the West End of Galveston Island. We apologize, but Gary Greene Vacation Rentals is unable to guarantee these amenities will be working during your stay and is unable to offer refunds for disruption of these services.

Clean and comfortable!!

We would have loved to have a fence like the property next door for our dog! that would have been amazing. Everything was great! just a warning about a person that is at the pool all the time, she’s not the nicest, a little nosy and was bothering me and my family. Apart from that fiasco at the pool that just made us uncomfortable we loved everything about the house!

Quiet location nice house

Overall the stay was very nice, the property is in a very quiet subdivision that is walking distance to the beach (across the main road). We enjoyed watching birds on the bayside from the back porch.

A few things need to be addressed but we loved where the house was located.. we spent most of our days on the deck looking out over the marsh.

Wonderful home

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandy Hook. We are a family of 6, and there was more than enough room for all of us! The house was very clean, we had everything we needed. The description was very accurate and the communication on what items we would need to furnish ourselves (bathroom and kitchen items) was very clear! A quick drive or walk to the beach, restaurants and stores were close by. We would definitely return !!

Great Spot

We really enjoyed our stay. Only thing that would have improved it would have been a bit more in the way of kitchen supplies. Trash bags, cooking oil etc.

Relaxing escape

Nice house. We enjoyed being able to get away from the hustle of the city. It has a great unobstructed view of the bay (and sunsets). The good: big open space (for the qty of people they allow) new washer/dryer and dishwasher. Spiral staircase in back is handy. Lots of kitchen utensils. Giant master shower. The bad: However...everything is a little broken. The floats in the toilets all stick so either they won't fill with water or they won't stop filling. Constantly have to adjust. The floor tiles in the kitchen pop under your feet. The sink faucet has a broken selector button. No garbage disposal. Lighting under the house is poor compared to other rentals. And, very surprisingly...the master has no closet. I realize this seems like a small complaint, but I had to leave our vacation for one day to go to a funeral for a friend and there was nowhere to hang my suit. It was, absurd. When you need to hang something a dresser doesn't help.

Fun on Galveston Island

Family of 6 with adults & teens stayed comfortably. Fairly clean. Comfortable beds. There was some construction going on with the new house next door during our stay. Three additional house were added west of this house since listing picture was taken. Was not able to walk to the bay due to the land behind the house being private property. Had trouble with the master bath toilet, called property office, toilet fixed right away. Would stay again!

Sandy Hook is clean, bright and open making it easy to enjoy the view of the bay, We spent most of our time on the back patio relaxing, playing board games and bird watching. Great location for a fun, relaxing getaway.

Relaxing weekend getaway

We love the west end of Galveston and this home featured lovely bay-view sides of the island for bird watching and very close convenient access to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Good getaway

It's really great getaway for the weekend. The space was clean overall. It had a good working kitchen a beautiful patio. The space is comfortable. The only thing I think we had trouble with was but because it was pet friendly there must be a lot of cat dander. Unfortunately my husband is allergic so we ended up having to leave early.

Beautiful view from back deck, but missing some basics.

Overall, we were happy with our stay. The house was clean and in a great location. We saw from other reviews that the dryer didn't work properly, and this was still the case. We tried to dry four average beach towels and it took three cycles through to get mostly dry. We were disappointed that there were no bars of soap for the bathrooms (the contract stated that there would be). Be aware that there really are no additional supplies stored in the house. Per the rental agreement we knew this, but there really was no soaps, paper towels, hand soap, or additional trash bags. Be sure to bring your own. If you plan on cooking, be sure to bring everything you'll need - no salt, pepper, oils, etc either. Being a VRBO regular, we were surprised that none of these items were here.

Excellent Stay at Sandy Hook

Our stay at Sandy Hook was better than expected. My sister was concerned about the cleanliness of the home prior to our arrival due to the pandemic. However, once we arrived she was immediately placed at ease due the cleanliness of the home. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. The home is in a great and friendly neighborhood! There is a great little store named Seven Seas Grocery and Market that certainly met our needs for any additional items needed. Also, you must try Mario's Pizzeria as the crust is great along with the excellent fresh ingredients. My husband and I along with my sister and her family had a great time. In addition. the team at Gary Greene was excellent to work with - Thank you!

Wanted to like it but CAN’T... poorly managed

Upon arrival we noticed the main toilet was continually running and found that the handle was broken. We immediately notified management as this was a huge inconvenience to either stick your hand town into tank water or everyone use the master bathroom. Someone came out and his words “used redneck ingenuity” to use a wire so we didn’t have to stick our hand down into tank water but still had to lift the tank lid every time to flush it. He even asked if it would be ok like that the remainder of our trip (5 days) and we kindly said with the amount of people and kids it’d be nice to have it fixed. He said he’d need to go into town the following day (Saturday) to get the part and come back then. Saturday came and went. We emailed Saturday evening and called management notifying it was still broken and the lady said she had no notification of an issue and that they normally don’t send anyone on a Sunday... it was finally taken care of over half way through our stay. The community pool is also closed. This was a HUGE part of why we booked to stay here. We planned this trip when covid was already active so we felt they would’ve mentioned in the description that it may be pending on things but never saw a warning. We were given the excuse that the whole island had their pools closed but after driving all down the sea wall through our trip, all community pools and splash pads were definitely OPEN. With little ones, we had looked forward to taking the kiddos since that’s what was advertised. I normally don’t complain about beds as we know it’s a rental however the bunk bed mattresses were a joke. Felt more like a box spring than a mattress. The house could use some updating as almost every towel/curtain/toilet paper rod was loose or fell off. Light bulb in kitchen was also burned out. I will say the kitchen was well stocked in utensils, pots and pans. SAFETY ISSUES that posed a real concern: •Beware when using the dryer as it will take 4+ cycles to fully dry just a normal load of clothes. This tells me the lint hose (not the trap) is most likely stopped up and needs to be cleared as this is a serious fire hazard! •And probably the most worrisome thing of all... We almost had our 23 month old nephew fall from the rear balcony where a spindle was missing and later found it tucked underneath another section of railing. We have yet to have someone call us back about this issue.... DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MANAGEMENT CO.!
